Exposed timbers do not last long in the elements, especially close to the coast, some good prep to remove all loose paint, then apply a few coats of 3 in 1 undercoat sealer before the finishing coats, will protect against water damage and rot for many years to come..
A couple of pics of an old house that's been extensively renovated and modernised in Wembley Downs. The house looks significantly better since its had a few licks of paint.
Check out these before and after shots of a brilliant old house in Dalkeith. After a doing some good preparation work (acid etching all the veranda and walkway floors) and several coats of paint, this house now looks fantastic.
Another full exterior house paint we did in 2012. Not only did the house look much better after the paint job, the metal surfaces of gutters and fascia resist corrosion for longer - very important with beachside living and Australia's harsh environmental conditions.
This job was just to freshen up the front facing exterior on the street side. We re-painted the gutters, facia, lattice, gables, down pipes, walls and carport & portico ceilings. A little paint can make a big difference.
